Falafels & Mezze

Maybe you know about these folks already, but it's news to us! Let's talk about Jerusalem Organic Kitchen at 1897 Solano Ave. in Berkeley (510-525-7888).

'The Mediterranean-style sandwiches and mezze at this little corner cafe not only taste fabulous, but they're made with organic produce and chicken and free-range Niman Ranch meats. Such pure, earth-friendly ingredients make the prices here seem dirt cheap. For owner Auny Abaya, a native of Israel, going organic is as much about flavor as eco-consciousness. Indeed, the Jerusalem Falafel is one of the tastiest wraps you'll ever eat, and spice-rubbed Niman Ranch lamb makes the Shawerma Platter sing.' J. Birdsall at the Mercury News
Mmmmm.
